Nancy Schwartz Obituary

LIMESTONE - Mrs. Nancy S. Schwartz, age 85, of Limestone, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph "Laurie" and Helen Showers, on September 17, 1938.

She attended East Tennessee State where she received her nursing degree. She spent her career working for VA Mountain Home and Johnson City Medical Center before serving as a Parish Nurse during her retirement, believing "I have received so that I can give, and in giving I am blessed." Nancy was a lifelong member of the Christian Church.

She loved knitting and crocheting, and countless friends, family members, and acquaintances were the recipients of the beautiful fruits of her labors. No mother loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than she did.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Schwartz; her son, Louis Alex Galloway, Jr.; great-grandson, Leon Dong; her sister, Donna McInturff; and Fred Wells and Louis Alex Galloway, Sr., the fathers of her children.

Survivors include her daughters, Mari Clements of Glenville, West Virgina, Sheri Maloney of Fall Branch, and Kathy Wells of Telford; several step-children, eight grandchildren, Matthew Clements, Tabitha Maloney, Dillon Wells, Jonathan Clements, Lora Wilson, and DJ Britton; one great grandchild, Asher Wilson; her sister, Patsy Buchanan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
