Mavis McIntosh Hathaway, 91, passed away at her home on April 4, 2023
She was born September 15, 1931, in McRoberts, Kentucky to Hollis "Jack" and Pina McIntosh.
She was baptized in 1956 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and remained a faithful and steadfast worshiper of Jehovah, knowing that Jesus' life meant everlasting life.
In October of 1955, she met James Hathaway in Louisville, KY, on a blind date. They married a month later on November 5th. They were married for 62 years until his death.
Mavis is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Kevin Hathaway, and daughter Kim Hathaway. Two brothers, Hollis James McIntosh and Alfred Neil McIntosh. Three sisters, Norma Elaine McIntosh, Delores Bevins, and Mary Katherine Neese.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Chatman, Jonesborough. Her grandsons Jameson Chatman (Brandy), Delafield, WI and Kevin "KJ" Hathaway (Stephanie), Johnson City. Three great-granddaughters, Madison and Marley Chatman, and Haley Hathaway. One great-grandson, Cillian Chatman.
Several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held via Zoom on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Please contact her daughter at [email protected] for the link information.
