Mrs. Mary Rebecca "Becky" Krieger September 4, 2024
JONESBOROUGH - Mrs. Mary Rebecca "Becky" Krieger, age 68, Jonesborough, passed through the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital after a prolonged and valiant battle with cancer.
Becky is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 33 years, Tom Krieger, Jonesborough; stepchildren, Laura Luecke (Kai), and Steve Krieger (Amy); five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Bennie Stout and Boyd Hodges; sister, Elizabeth Hodges; five nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Becky was the matriarch of the Hodges and extended Stout families. She loved and was loved by all including her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tate and Ruth Hodges, brother, Robert Hodges and a great nephew, Tate Jeremiah Hodges.
Becky was a member of Central Baptist Church where she served as Chairman of the Lord's Support committee for over 20 years. She also proudly greeted at the early service for over 15 years.
She was a graduate of David Crockett High School Class of 1973. She was a long-term employee of Fleming Foods of Tennessee. The last part of her life was spent as a homemaker and community volunteer. She was a long-time supporter of Ronald McDonald House, the ETSU Foundation and Coalition for Kids. She was recently recognized as having been the very first tutor for the Coalition for Kids.
Becky recently began serving her community as a poll worker and part time employee of the Washington Election Mission. In addition, Becky was a member of the East Tennessee Republican Club. Becky was most proud of her functioning treasurer work and affiliation with State Representative Rebecca Alexander.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. David Simmerman and Mr. Randy Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
Entombment services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Monday, September 9, 2024, at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hodges, Josh Hodges, Jason Hodges, Alex Simmerman, Joshua Simmerman, Lucas Simmerman, Brandon Krieger, Nathan Krieger and Matt Krieger.
