Mary Jane King, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the age of 78. She was the queen of God's corner thrifting and yard sales. Mary was born on November 24, 1946, to the later Aviah Collins and Willie Rainey, in Claiborne County TN. She was a woman of quiet faith, deep love and a gentle soul, whose spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Rainey, Father, Aviah Collins, three brothers and 1 sister.
Mary's greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed embroidering pillowcases, working puzzle books, watching game shows, and listening to Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her son, Daniel King, three daughters, Tammy Bowman, Helen Adams, and Misty King, one sister, Shirley Cornell, seven grandchildren, Jessica Bennett, Joshua King, Robert Parshall, Amber Saults, Jacob Adams, Jessica Earnest, and Lela Guinn, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be on Monday, August 8th, 2025, at New Bethel Cemetery in Piney Flats at 2:00 pm. Pastor Louie Blevins will be officiating. Pallbearers for Ms. King will be Jonathan McInturff, Michael Blair, Max Guinn, Travis Bennewtt, Jackie Hyatt, and Anthony Burns. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Amedisys Hospice, especially Ariel Arthur, for their exceptional care.
Though Mary is no longer with us, her memory remains a light in the lives of those she loved.
