Mary Hamman Obituary

Mary Ellen (Frederick) Hamman died peacefully on June 10 with her husband of 47 years, Albert P. Hamman, by her side.

Born in New Kensington, PA in 1939, Ellen was an accomplished pianist with a degree in performance and shared her musical gifts by volunteering her time with numerous assisted living facilities in the Tri-Cities region, and for a time held the post of church organist with Marvin's Chapel Church.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Ellen belonged to various area hiking groups and found spiritual solace in nature.

In addition to her husband, Ellen is survived by her sister Nancy Gallagher, brother William Alonzo Frederick, and sons Daniel, David, and Michael Patton.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Christian Assisted living of Johnson City, Gentiva Hospice, and especially Alzheimer's' Tennessee.

Memorial contributions in her name to Alzheimer's Tennessee, the Washington County Animal Shelter and/or Second Harvest Food Bank of NE Tennessee would be greatly appreciated.
