Marvin Eugene "Butch" Tapp

KINGSPORT - Marvin Eugene "Butch" Tapp, age 73, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at NHC Healthcare of Kingsport. He was born in Erwin, Tennessee, a son of the late Earnest Tapp and Barbara Johnson Tapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rose Peterson Tapp; and one sister, Brenda Howell.

Butch was of the Baptist faith and had retired with 25 plus years of service from CSX Railroad. He was a great artist.

He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Tapp and Sarah Tapp; one grandson, Devin Brown; two brothers, Mike Tapp and Steve Tapp; mother-in-law, Evelyn "Joyce" Peterson; two brothers-in-law, Pete Peterson and Ken Peterson; one sister-in-law, Susan Jones; and two special nieces, Shalena Peterson and Sherry Trent.

Committal Service and Interment will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM in Section H at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Adam Crabtree officiating.
