William Patrick Flannagan, 81, of Cicero, New York, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. William was born in Syracuse, New York on August 29, 1944 to Patsy and Mary Grosso.
William (Bill) served our country in the Army stationed in Vietnam for 2 years, he also worked at Local 30 where he later retired. Bill was a proud co-founder of Caughdenoy Creek Country Club in Central Square, NY. The golf course was built in mind with his passion for golf which turned into more than just a golf course, it became a foundation of many wonderful, unforgettable memories shared with family and friends old and new. His smile, laughter and sense of humor were contagious, just a man full of life who liked making others laugh. He enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, casinos but most of all, spending time with family was everything to him. Thanksgiving was by far his favorite holiday, a time when we all got together for a feast, and ended with a family friendly game of poker, in which he taught the young ones how to play. He was an amazing dad, husband and role model to his grandchild, Emma who he loved dearly. He will be deeply missed, but we are fortunate to have had so many fond years with him in our life.
He is predeceased by his parents, Patsy and Mary Grosso.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 56 years, Lynda Flannagan; daughter, Tracy Sutor; son, Tim Flannagan; granddaughter, Emma Sutor; his siblings, Patty (Ed) Thorne, Jim (Sharon) Flannagan; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who adored him.
