Marilynn Schulz Obituary

March 14, 1948 – October 22, 2023

PINEY FLATS - Marilynn Schulz passed away on Sunday at the age of 75. Marilynn is the daughter of Jack and Molly Davies of Wenona, IL. Jack and Molly owned a truck stop in Wenona. He ran the service part and Molly ran the cafe. Marilynn in the cafe in her teen years. She later attended Southern Illinois University where she earned a degree in education. That's where she met her future husband, Gary Schulz in their senior year in 1969.

After graduation they were married and moved to Galesburg, IL where they had two sons, David and Doug Schulz. In 1976 the family moved to Johnson City. She was mostly an "in home" mother but became involved in the Fairmont Elementary PTA and rose to become president.

In 1990 the family decided to start a new business in Johnson City: The Sign Factory on the Bristol Highway. She was the bookkeeper until this year when illness forced her retirement. She has two grandsons, Ben and Nick Schulz.

So sorry to hear that Marilyn has passed. It has been a joy working with her through the past many years. She will certainly be missed and the family will be in our prayers.
