Marian Ella Robinson October 3, 1938 - September 4, 2024
ELIZABETHTON - Marian Ella Robinson, 85, Elizabethton entered peacefully to her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. She is at home in the arms of Jesus. Mary was a loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. A hard-working woman who had a love for baking and made beautiful cakes at all of the family celebrations. Mary's greatest love was for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had six sons, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mary was of the Baptist faith.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Joseph A. Russell Jr.; her mother, Annie Mae Barr; a sister, Annie May Bonesteel and a brother, Joseph A. Russell III.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Patrick Barr Jr. and wife, Shirley of Elizabethton, Joseph Cole and wife, Teresa of Elizabethton, Steven Barr and wife, Bessie of Elkins, WV, Joseph Sampson and wife, Melissa of Elizabethton, John W. Sampson and James Sampson both of Jonesborough.
Funeral services for Mary will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with her son, Rev. Patrick Barr Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Ensor Cemetery, Elizabethton in the Stoney Creek Community. Pallbearers will be Jamie Hayes, Dean Sampson, Jimmy Sampson Sr., Jimmy Sampson II, Sean Zuber and Trey Zuber.
A special "thank you" to her daughter-in-law, Melissa Sampson for overseeing her care as much as possible. Also to the staff and caregivers of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and to Patrick and Christy for their loving care these past years.
