Margaret J. Tipton April 20, 2024
GRAY - Margaret J. Tipton, 78, of Gray, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was a lifelong resident of Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Madelene Wright.
Margaret was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Tipton; son-in-law, Wayne Hughes; special dog, coco.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Hughes; three sons, Allen Cole, Jr. Carr and his wife Whitney and David Carr and his wife Sissy; five sisters, Betty Heck, Delores Scott, Ruth Crawford, Fern, and Crystal; four brothers, Doug Wright, Wayne Wright, George Wright, and William Wright; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one very special niece, Martha Bachman; several nephews.
The family of Margaret J. Tipton will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The funeral service will follow at 8 pm with Rev. George Bradley officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 am Thursday, in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Allen Cole, Jr. Carr, David Carr, Daxx Carr, Jordan Stout, Roger Wright, and Chance Lee Moore. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am Thursday.
