Mandy Honeycutt, age 50, of the Buladean Community, left this earthly life on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of Darlene Hill of Buladean and the late Buster Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Verndenia Hughes and paternal grandparents, Claude and Genevia "Jack" Honeycutt. Mandy enjoyed riding horses, four-wheelers, the Dallas Cowboys, guns, cooking, taking care of her cousins and going to the beach. She had the brightest eyes, and everyone loved her and wanted to be around her. Mandy was a custodian for Buladean School, drove a school bus and coached ball teams, but was mostly known as the "school mom" to all her students.
Surviving in addition to her mom, Darlene, is her stepfather, Ralph; brother, Jeremy Honeycutt (Jaine) of Buladean; fiancé, Tommy Hobson of Fork Mountain; nieces: McKenzi and Paisley Honeycutt of Unicoi, TN and her beloved dachshund, Roxie. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22nd in St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Gordon Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wheeler Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
