Lynne Wood Obituary

Lynne Wood

January 25, 2025

Lynne Wood, 84, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Born in Johnson City, she was the cherished only daughter of William Franklin and Minnie Watson Rabun. While her roots were in Johnson City, Lynne's heart found its homes in Bristol and Hilton Head Island, where she spent some of her happiest years.

Lynne began her career as a dedicated Medical Secretary in the lab at Bristol Memorial Hospital, where her professionalism and care touched many lives. Later, she embraced her most treasured role as a full-time mother to her children, Frank and Meredith.

Her spirit of volunteerism was unparalleled. As an integral part of Theatre Bristol, Lynne brought together countless productions, sharing her love of the arts with the community. She also worked tirelessly at every school function, becoming a dependable and enthusiastic presence in the lives of her children and their peers. Lynne's pride and joy were her children, whom she supported wholeheartedly, always cheering them on and sharing in their triumphs with boundless enthusiasm.

Known for her fun-loving, spirited nature and fierce independence, Lynne's presence brightened every room. Her caring and mothering spirit drew people to her, making her a friend to many and a guiding light to those fortunate enough to know her.

Lynne is survived by her son, Frank Wood and Stacey Hodges; her daughter, Meredith Seeley; and her beloved grandchildren: Emma, Shelby, and Owen Seeley, and Evie Wood. She also leaves behind countless family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethton for the compassionate care they provided during Lynne's final months.

Lynne's life was a testament to love, dedication, and kindness. Her vibrant spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lynne's memory to Theatre Bristol or a charity of your choice.
