JOHNSON CITY - Louise Wright Barnett, 92, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Monday October 9, 2023 at her residence with her family by her side. She was a native of Hampton, Tennessee but had lived in Washington County most of her life. Louise was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church and attended the Full Gospel Holiness Church. She had worked many years for Leon-Ferenbach and Klopman Mills. Louise loved going to church and loved her family especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Etter Wright; her husband, Lawrence Barnett; and four brothers, Howard and Lawrence Wright and Kenneth and Dennis Stevens.
She is survived by her children, Vanda Richards of Johnson City and Terry L. Barnett and his wife, Carolyn of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Stephen Barnett and wife, Julie, Christy Decker and husband, Tim, Michael Wilson and wife, Tracey and David Story and his wife, Kristie; great-grandchildren, Gabe Story, Evan Barnett, Olivia Barnett, Hannah and Abigail Decker and Josh and Emily Wilson; sisters, Betty Wilson, Darlene Tolley, Geraldine Tolley and Aileen Street; her brothers, Roger and Dale Stevens; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Louise will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff, Pastor Josh Jones and Pastor David Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 13, 2023 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Rex Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Wilson, Stephen Barnett, Josh Wilson, Tim Decker, Greg Bennett and Gary Leonard. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM.
