Lois Jones Obituary

Lois Grogan Jones

February 9, 1927 -

February 14, 2026

JOHNSON CITY - Lois Grogan Jones, Johnson City, slipped peacefully into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by members of her loving family. Lois was born on February 9, 1927, in Watauga County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perdy Eggers Grogan and William Claude Grogan of Zionville, NC and by her beloved husband, Ralph D. Jones of Johnson City, TN.

In her early years, Lois was employed at the Bemberg plant in Elizabethton, TN. Throughout her married life, she worked closely alongside her husband in his insurance business while also raising their four children. Lois was a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Johnson City. She was gentle and loving and was a constant support to her family and friends. When her husband developed Alzheimer's disease, Lois devoted herself to caring for him at home for 13 years, a testament to her unwavering love and faithfulness.

Lois is survived by her children: Teresa Jones Pierce (husband Gary, deceased) of Johnson City, Keith D. Jones (Karon) of Bluff City, Cinda Jones Krecker (Bill) of Little Mountain, SC, and William R. "Bill" Jones (Mary) of Johnson City. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren: Scott Pierce (Rebecca) of Franklin, TN; David Pierce (Vanette) of Johnson City; Michael Jones (Elisa) of Johnson City; Allison Krecker Masquelier (Derek) of Easley, SC; Leslie Jones Greenlee (Mike) of Johnson City; Cody Jones of Johnson City; Hannah Jones Hare (Ryan) of Kingsport; Aaron Gillespie (Meredith) of Kingsport; and Brian Gillespie (Amber) in the US Foreign Service. She is survived by 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

The family is greatly indebted to her loving friend, Christyann English, and compassionate caregivers who have tended to her throughout the past years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Murray officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Monte Vista Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Summit Leadership Foundation P.O. Box 3555 Johnson City, TN 37602.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.dillow-taylor.com
