Lois Ann Dishner (Bare) September 8, 1944- July 3, 2024

BLUFF CITY - In Loving Memory of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend.

Lois Ann Dishner (Bare), age 79 of Bluff City, TN, passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1944 to Roby and Blanch Vandeventer Bare.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Dishner and 11 of her brothers and sisters, Virginia McCloud, George Bare, Jack Bare, Larnce "Junior" Bare, William "Dude" Bare, Burl "Dean" Bare, Jesse "Paul" Bare, Luther "Buster" Bare, Bobby Bare, Roxy Williams, and Charlotte "Bootsie" Humphrey. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her love and energy into creating a warm and nurturing home for each of them. She is survived by er two children, Jeff Cross of Bluff City and fiancé Ellen McCall and Kristi Roberts of Bluff City and husband Jeff Roberts; her grandchildren, Brad Sharp of Bluff City Ashley Cheek of Johnson City and husband Adam Cheek, Megan Burke of Bluff City and husband Scotty Burke, A.J. Perry of Knoxville, and Anisha Cross of Bluff City; her great grandchildren, Grady Burke, Saylor Sharp, Ellie Chapman, and Cain Burke. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Betty Thomas and Barbara "Sue" Harkleroad, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Lois grew up in "Bare Holler" in Watauga, TN and was a proud graduate of Elizabethton High School Class of 1962 where she made many lifelong friends. She had a love for shopping and was very much a fashionista.

Lois was a perfect example of love and compassion, known to all who met her for her servant heart. Her selflessness was evident everywhere she went and in everything she did. She dedicated her life to helping others, always putting the needs of family, friends, and strangers before her own. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds.

Lois devoted much of her life to serving others in the food industry. She began working at Ridgewood BBQ as a teenager. She also worked at Pardner's Bar-B-Que for many years, which was owned and operated by her brother Paul. Lois went on to open her own restaurant, Rustler's, which was located in Elizabethton, TN. In recent years, she called herself the "social butterfly" of Bluff City Diner, owned by her daughter Kristi. Everywhere she went throughout her life, she was always ready with a kind word and a warm smile. Her legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Most importantly, throughout her life, Lois walked with Jesus in all she did. She was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ.
