Lloyd Shew Obituary

JONESBOROUGH - Lloyd Wayne Shew, 86, of Jonesborough passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025 at The Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Washington County, TN to the late E.J. and Kathleen Shew. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Bobby, David and Donald Shew; three sisters, Shirley Hunter, Peggy Keplinger, and Doris Gabbert; and a son in law, Gary Richardson.
Lloyd was a carpenter but he had also worked as a machinist and a welder. He could do anything he tried. He always had a project he was working on. He also loved to teach his grandchildren new skills. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Lloyd loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Patsy B. Shew of the home; a daughter, Renee Richardson; grandchildren, Austin and Logan Leach and Garrison and Gavin Richardson; great-grandchildren, Raidyn and Rhemi Leach; a brother, Richard Shew (Nancy); as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will have a visitation from 2-3 pm on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at Boones Creek Christian Church Union Campus. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lloyd Shew will follow from 3-4 pm. (3639 Cherokee Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659)
Those that prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Boones Creek Christian Church Union Campus youth.

I have known the Shew family since I went to school with Renee at UH for 1st grade. There is nothing I can say other than how sorry I am. Losing someone so beloved is always heartbreaking. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. I am so sorry and saddened by your loss.
