Linda Lampkins Obituary

Linda Faye Gray Lampkins passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the evening of July 18.
Born May 13, 1941 to Charlie and Edith Gray in Jonesborough TN.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. She so enjoyed being a greeter and hugging everybody's neck on Sunday mornings until her health prevented her from standing very long. Even then, she spent countless hours writing birthday, sympathy and encouragement cards to her church family.
She became a Christian at the age of 9. She was so overjoyed that she ran to tell everyone she knew that she had Jesus in her heart to stay! She continued to tell of His love and faithfulness till the very end.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings. Irma Livingston, June Phillips, and Richard Gray.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Lampkins. One brother Gale (Lula) Gray. Two daughters, Teresa (Shawn) Davis, Lana (Scott) Buckingham and step-daughter, Amy Lampkins. Four grandchildren, Lynda Anne Simmons (Travis), Geordan Green, Chase Buckingham, Ethan (Caitlin) Buckingham and step-grandchild, Grace Lampkins. Linda had three great grandchildren, Peyton and Abbey Simmons (Annie and Travis), and Laikyn Buckingham (Ethan and Caitlin).
Linda had many nieces and nephews, but she always loved her niece Sandra Fair dearly. (She always claimed that she was her baby)
Her wish was to be cremated. There will be an informal Celebration of Life at Trinity Baptist Church on July 27 at 2pm.
We must include our heartfelt gratitude for the care and devotion of Gentiva Hospice. They were available 24/7, weekend and holidays. They truly are medical hands and feet of Christ.
Mike made certain that Linda always had the prettiest flowers on the block. She enjoyed them so!
No need for flowers now. Give a little something to a person who needs a hand. That would please her more than anything.
