Linda Clark August 19, 2024
Linda Smith Clark, 76, passed away at her home on the morning of Aug. 19, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Clark, just six months prior. In addition to Kenneth, she was preceded by her parents, Alice and Don Smith, as well as her only brother, Robert Smith.
Linda left behind a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Scott Taylor, and grandson, Eric Stout, who cherish her memory along with her sisters Barby Graybeal and Roberta Houston (Lewis), sister-in-law, Alice Packwood Smith, several nieces and nephews, and her a very special niece and caregiver, Nicki Smith.
Linda was a graduate of Washington College Academy where she received a special diploma in music. She used that God given gift as the choir director and organist at Limestone United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Linda was active in the Women's Society of Christian Service and Mary Meals at LUMC, as well as a Girl Scout troop leader.
She retired from Truist Bank as Branch Manager. Many customers remember Linda from her more than 40 years in banking, which began at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Limestone.
Linda and Kenneth enjoyed many Goldwing motorcycle trips through the mountains and are most assuredly riding on the streets of gold in heaven.
The family would like to thank all those who provided food, help and encouragement throughout her illness. A special thanks to those medical professionals who so lovingly cared for her over the last few months including Dr. Amy Proffitt, Nurse Practitioners Megan and Lauren, Kim Jackson of State of Franklin Healthcare, Tiffany on 3300 at JCMC and the nurses and certified nursing assistants at Amedysis Home Health and Hospice.
A memorial service will be conducted at Limestone United Methodist Church at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to Mary Meals, Limestone UMC, 189 Opie Arnold Road, Limestone, TN 37681.
