JONESBOROUGH - Lewis M. Carr, 69, Jonesborough, passed away with his family by his side, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at his residence.
He was born in Johnson City and was a son of the late Robert William and Virginia Doris Isaacs Carr and stepmother Beulah Carr.
Lewis was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He served proudly for 6 years. Lewis attended Grace Fellowship Church.
He loved watching NASCAR and University of Tennessee sports. Lewis enjoyed taking trips to the beach. He was a hard worker and a devoted father and husband.
In addition to his parents Lewis was preceded in death by his brother, Cyrus Carr and sister, Robin Carr.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Linda Bryson Carr; sons, Brian Carr, Tod Parker (Melanie); daughter, Jamie Carr; grandchildren, Austin Parker, Erika Patterson (Cody), Andrew Silvers, Ayden Silvers, Jake Cross, Kayla Cross; great granddaughter, Aubriela McGee; brother, Dennis Carr (Mary), sisters, Jo Ellen Bengert (Glen), Marilyn Knight, Mickey Carol Isenberg (John); longtime friend, Alan Mango; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 1, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Mark Dugger, officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in Carr Cemetery. Pallbearers will be chosen from friends and family.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family would like you to donate to the charity of your choice.
