WATAUGA - Larry Joe Treadway, age 74, of Watauga, Tennessee passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Larry was born in Elizabethton, a son of the late Guy and Helen Russell Treadway. In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Reece; and two sisters, Doris Treadway and Sue Adams.
Larry retired from the butcher department at Food City and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his yard but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his beloved grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Larry's memory include his wife, Donna Shipley Treadway of the home; his son, Brandon and wife Gen of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Gage Treadway, Caiden Treadway and Mason Treadway all of Elizabethton, Autumn Reynolds of Lebanon, VA and Jimmy Junior Reece of Elizabethton; four great grandchildren, Aiden Reynolds, Isabella Reynolds, Gabe Reynolds and Willow Reynolds all of Lebanon, VA; two sisters, Cathy Kent and Teresa Ballard and husband Ray all of Elizabethton; his brother, Tommy Treadway of Elizabethton; a special niece, Penny Sams and husband Johnny of Elizabethton; and several other nieces and nephews survive.
It was Larry's wish to be cremated and no services are currently scheduled.
Also, the family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Larry's honor to the Elizabethton/ Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, Tennessee 37643.
