JOHNSON CITY - Larry Allen Curtis, 73, Johnson City passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a naïve and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late Carl Nathaniel Curtis and Jo Ann Waller Curtis. Larry had worked for C&T Volkswagon for several years before retirement. He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army. Larry enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets and going on trips to Memphis and Nashville with his brother-in-law, transporting patients. He enjoyed refurbishing vacuum cleaners in his spare time.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Vance Curtis; his second wife, Betty Vance Curtis; and a sister, Jessie Markland.

Survivors include his children, Travis Curtis and Kristi Parmer, Timmy Curtis and Jarvis, Amanda Manuel and Steven, Crystal Curtis and Anthony Curtis; his siblings, Carl Curtis, Susan Bishop, Sherry Markland and James, Barbara Lau and Jon, Shawn Hoilman and George, Shannon Curtis and Christine and Scott Curtis and Beverly; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Larry will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Scott Street officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends.
