LIMESTONE - Kenneth E. Clark, age78, of Limestone, TN, passed away on February 21, 2024.
He was born on January 19, 1946, to the late Vasie and Mildred Greenway Clark in Johnson City, TN. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Arabella Clark; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Florence Greenway; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Alice Smith; brothers-in-law, Bob Smith and Bill Graybeal, who bonded together as brothers; and special cousin, Carolyn Saylor, whom he thought of as a sister.
Graduating from Jonesborough High School in 1964, Kenneth joined the Air Force in August of 1965. After basic training and tech school, he was stationed at Fort Fisher Air Force Radar Site in Wilmington, NC until his discharge in January 1969. Ken returned to work at Eastman Chemical in Kingsport until he later went to Magnavox in Greeneville, where he was able to use his electronics training learned in the Air Force. He later opened Clark's TV and Appliance Store in Limestone until he began his tenure with the US Postal Service. Kenneth was a rural letter carrier in Limestone for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
Kenneth was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church and the Limestone Ruritan Club, where he served as President, Secretary, and Treasurer over the years. He was also a member of the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Some of his happiest times were spent riding his Honda Goldwing. Ken always looked forward to fall rides with the guys each year until his health no longer allowed him to ride.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Linda; a daughter, Carrie (Scott) Taylor; grandson, Eric Stout, whom he was so proud of; sisters-in-law, Roberta (Lewis) Houston, Barby Graybeal, and Alice Smith; an aunt, Frances Cameron; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank Amedisys Home Health Care and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care during this time. A special thank you to niece, Nicki Smith, and daughter, Carrie, for their loving care each day.
