PINEY FLATS - Karen Chase Johnson Hart, devoted Christian, Wife and Mother, age 84, of Piney Flats, Tennessee went to her eternal rest on Friday, February 23, 2024 after an extended illness. She was born in Piney Flats, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Arvil Aaron Johnson and Veda Lee Chase Johnson. In addition to her parents, as the last living of her siblings, she was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Galloway; and one brother, Robert (Betty) Johnson.
Karen was the wife of James Paul Hart, and they enjoyed wedded bliss for 62 years. She was a 1957 graduate of Mary Hughes High School and was a sixty-year member of Piney Flats Presbyterian Church. She worked twenty years at Baxter Pharmaseal Lab and for eighteen years she worked at Raytheon in Bristol.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David Paul Hart and wife Kim; two granddaughters, Masey Brianne Hart and Annalese Elizabeth-Colbi Hart; one brother-in-law, Earl Galloway; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 at 5:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Rainwater and Pastor Teresa Kendall officiating. A Private Inurnment will be held in the Garden of the Gospels at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Providence Medical Clinic, 441 Clay Street, Kingsport, TN 37660, a non-profit free, faith-based clinic serving the indigent and unsheltered in Sullivan County, Kingsport and Bristol.
