Karen Ruth Ford October 8, 2024 - July 31, 2024 ERWIN - Karen Ruth Ford, of Erwin, left us Wednesday afternoon to meet face to face with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and have a glorious reunion with her mother, Margaret Langland (Zuidema) Miedema, and her father, Henry Zuidema, on the streets of Heaven. Missing Karen terribly are her husband Richard "Dick" Ford and their daughters, Carol Lynn Exline of Pennsylvania and Sherri Layne Kerr of Arizona and grandchildren Alyssia, Arielle, Carter, Ethan and Georgia. Also mourning her are her brother, George Zuidema, in Chicago and her nieces Darcy, Kristen, Brenda and Bobbi. She will also be missed by special neighbors Susan and Queenie and her dear friends Ruby, Mechelle and Kim. Also, she will be sorely missed by her lifelong friend, Susan Berman. Other friends and family are remembered but too numerous to list.
Arrangements for a Celebration of Life for Karen are as follows: a visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church. A celebration of her life will begin at 6:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church. Reverend David Crutchfield and Reverend E.L. Wheeler will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Queenie Wheeler and Gary Amos. Karen's mortal remains will be transported to Chapel Hill Memory Gardens in Chicago, where she will be laid to rest beside her mother following a brief graveside service for her Chicago family and friends.
May we each remember her as a blessing, and may God bless us all.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial donations be made in Karen's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4601 Charlotte Park Drive #130, Charlotte, NC 28217, to commemorate her courageous struggle with the disease.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www. valleyfuneralhome.net http://www.valleyfuneralhome.net or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Valley FuneralHomeErwin.
