Mrs. Joyce, "Miss Joyce," Cline Caviness Long, 74, passed away January 28, 2024. She was born June 2, 1949, to the late Helen Ruth and Lester Edward Cline in Wytheville Virginia. Her paternal grandparents were Nannie Virginia and Emory Joseph Cline. Her maternal grandparents were Sallie and Garfield Andrews, and her aunt Flora Mae Cline.
She is survived by her husband Lester Douglas Long, of 36 years, two daughters, Jessica Anderson, and her Husband Jeff of Mount Carmel; Amy Ramsey and her husband Rick of Johnson City; one son, Tom Long and his wife Kristen of Johnson City. Five grandchildren by the names of Abby, Abe, and Savannah Anderson; Caleb and Logan Reagan; two great grandchildren by the names of Charlotte and Kamryn Reagan. Two sisters, Linda Burns Settle, Shirley and Don Fisher as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a member of East Unaka Christian Church in Johnson City, Tennessee. She retired from United Telephone/Sprint Corporation after 36 years of service. She loved to shop and collect teddy bears and other items for the Johnia Berry Toy Drive.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of the People's Street Chick-Fil-A for their kindness and friendship throughout the years. They would also like to thank the Johnson City Medical Center ICU staff for their amazing care for "Miss Joyce."
The family of Joyce "Miss Joyce" Cline Caviness Long will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 pm. An inurnment service will be held at 11 am Friday, February 2, 2024, in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Johnia Berry Toy Drive fund.
