Joshua Sherfey Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Joshua Allen Sherfey, 43, Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Josh was born in Johnson City to Dave Sherfey and the late Pamela Susan Sherfey.

Josh was a landscaper, working at Lawn Care & More. He enjoyed fishing, cars, motorcycles, animals, and music. Josh had a beautiful heart. He never got off the phone without telling you he loved you. The void of his smile and kindness will be missed by all who loved and cared for him.

In addition to his mother, Josh is preceded in death by his sister, Bethany Sherfey, maternal grandparents, Thomas and Erma Hensley, paternal grandmother, Louise Sherfey.

In addition to his father, survivors include his stepmother, Diana Sherfey; daughters, Chasity Marie Black, Abigail McKinley Sherfey; grandson, Elliott Christopher Urso; brother, Mark George Mussler; nephew, Caleb Sherfey; paternal grandfather, Dr. Charles Sherfey; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The celebration of life service for Josh will be conducted Friday, June 9, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with his grandfather, Dr. Charles Sherfey, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.

The graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in Evergreen Cemetery, Erwin. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 A.M.
