JOHNSON CITY - Jordan Uchenna Jones, 28, of the Boones Creek community in Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Boones Creek, Jordan was born April 15, 1995, to Douglas Dwayne and Sissie Shelton Jones. He graduated from Daniel Boone High School in 2013. Jordan worked as a veteran service technician for First Community Care.
Jordan had the biggest heart, and he would give the shirt off his back. He would help a stranger no matter the need, but for his family and friends he would go above and beyond. He was a bubbly, fun, and overly affectionate person with goofy dances and zero rhythm. He had an infectious laugh that was downright contagious, even when you didn't want it to be. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Dwayne Jones; brother, Douglas Paul Jones; and maternal grandfather, Paul Marrion Shelton.
Those left to cherish Jordan's memory include his mother, Sissie Jones; mother of his children, Kaylee Bolton; children, Paetyn Ruby Jones and Christian Michael Jones; twin brother, Morgan (Kayla) Jones; sister, Logan (Justin) Johnson; nieces and nephews, Isabella, Gabriella, and Gabriel Johnson, Brayden Jones, and Braxton Million; paternal grandparents, Douglas and Barbara Jones; maternal grandmother, Ruby Shelton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jordan's family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow, at 7:00 pm, under the direction of Ancel Presnell, Jr. A committal service will commence the following day, at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 24, at Glenwood Union Church Cemetery. Those attending are asked to please meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am.
Active pallbearers include Chris Williams, Isaac Mass, John Pearson, Bobby Tester, Morgan Jones, and Justin Johnson. Honorary pallbearer is John Honeycutt.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the wonderful nurses and desk staff at the Johnson City Medical Center ICU, especially Jessica Dwomick, who was worth so much more than the Daisy award to Jordan and his entire family.
