Johnny Mercer Logan, 81, passed away July 2, 2023. "Logan" was born to Wallace "Houston" Logan & Margaret Mercer Logan in Erwin, TN. He spent the summers of his youth working on the farm in VA and running the roads with his dear friend, Lou Thornberry. After graduating high school, Johnny went on to further his education at Virginia Tech, complete with a Bachelor's in Business. He was a very successful businessman in the Tri-Cities area for many years. After retirement, Johnny enjoyed taking mini-road-trips to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the Beauty Spot being his favorite place to visit.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was predeceased by his sisters, Jane Logan Guinn and Joann Logan Britton. Those left to remember Johnny include his sister and brother, Maggie Logan Morris and Robert Logan, his daughters, Mary Margaret Francisco, Anne Elizabeth Logan, and Kelsey Logan Ogle (Josh), and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will be honoring Johnny's wishes and will not be holding a formal service.

Johnny, I'm so sorry. I wish I could of have been there for you. You were a great man and friend and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to clean for you the last 2years. Just wish your family had notified me. I hope you are rejoicing. Rest in peace, my friend.

I shall always be grateful for the opportunity that Johnny provided to me as I began my banking career. Being always fair and generous he was a great person to work for. I send sympathy to his family.

We were so sad to hear of Johnny's passing. He was a wonderful person to know. We are happy we were able to see him just a few weeks ago. "per aspera ad astra"
