John Brooks Swisher

August 5, 1963 -

February 23, 2025

ERWIN - John Brooks Swisher, age 61, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home. Born in Grand Island, Nebraska, John is the son of Russell W. and Gwendolyn Ann (Davis) Swisher and the faithful husband of Joanne (Sparks) Swisher. Mr. Swisher was the Night Shift Manager at A.O. Smith, where he was happily employed for more than 30 years. John was a proud veteran of the United States Army, was an Eagle Scout, and a volunteer of the Boy Scouts for more than 30 years. He enjoyed being a Hamm Radio Operator. He was an avid Bible collector and reader, and his faith was very important to him. Throughout his life, he was a pursuer of higher education, receiving a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering along with multiple master's degrees. His greatest educational achievement was a Master of Business Administration from Milligan College.

John Brooks Swisher has left behind to cherish his memory: parents, Russ and Ann Swisher; wife, Joanne Swisher; daughters: Eleana Pate (Paul) and Lenee' Brianne Sparks; sister, Karena Swisher; niece, Lauren Wentzel; and many special friends.

The family would also like to thank Tammy Fitzgerald for her thoughtful support during this time of need.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of John Brooks Swisher in a memorial service to be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at The Midst, 2506 S Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601 Reverend Steve Wagner will officiate.
