John Riley Brittenham, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Hillside Rehab & Care Center in Yorkville, IL. He was born on December 15, 1937 in Moline, IL, the son of William Riley and Beatrice (Redetzke) Brittenham.
John was united in marriage on November 1, 1980 to Cynthia Hamer and they spent the next 44 years happily together. Mr. Brittenham was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a 1955 graduate of UTHS, United Township High School. Mr. Brittenham was employed, until his retirement, with AT&T as a communications technician. He enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycle riding with his family and friends. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife, Cindy Brittenham of Yorkville, IL; his sons, Brad (Darcy) Brittenham of Coal Valley, IL, and Brent (Becky) Brittenham of Bettendorf, IA; his grandchildren, Bryce, Bryan (Shai), Stefani Stanton, and Collin (Nicole); his great-grandchildren, Dominic and Wesley Stanton, and Emmett Brittenham; his sister, Ruth Henson of Des Moines, IA; also, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beatrice Brittenham; and his sister, Connie Stuart.
