Jerry Walter Rose March 27, 2024 GRAY - Jerry Walter Rose, 62, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Knoxville, the son of Sue Ball Rose and the late James Walter Rose.
Jerry was a proud graduate of Daniel Boone High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from ETSU before entering a career in engineering, most recently employed at Bell Helicopter in Piney Flats.
He loved the Lord. As a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, he served as an elder and a deacon over the years. Jerry celebrated his faith with the talents he'd cultivated over his life; he played music with the worship team and his skill in the kitchen was always appreciated when he made up a batch of pies for church bake sales.
Beyond the church, his love for music also led him to play trombone in the Johnson City Community Concert Band. Additionally, he enjoyed his former experiences as a private pilot as well as spending his time outdoors. He got the most joy from nature when he could get to the beach.
His family was his greatest joy. Jerry made many memories in the sand with his son and watching the sea turtles with his wife on their trips to Myrtle Beach. He was immensely proud of his son and took great care to pass along his care and respect for others and teach him what it meant to be a gentleman. Although they spent time together at home, the two also delighted in sharing a lunch date every other Friday during the school year.
Jerry will be remembered for his kind acts, heart for service, corny sense of humor, interest in learning, and love of music. He will be missed as a loving husband by Debbie Perkuchin Rose; as the world's greatest Dad by Josiah Walter Rose; as a caring brother by Larry Rose and wife Carol; as well as by his extended family and cherished friends.
The family of Jerry Rose will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. A memorial service will follow immediately at 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastors Andy Wyatt and James Richter. Jerry Rose will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Monte Vista Memorial Park.

So sorry to see this. I worked with Jerry at Siemens in the late 90s/early 2000s. He was always a bright spirit, always had a positive, can do attitude. We enjoyed working together and sharing our love of Jazz/Pop/R&B as instrumentalists. Wishing love, peace, serenity to all Jerry's family and friends during this time. He will be greatly missed.
