JOHNSON CITY - Jerry R. Hensley, 89, of Johnson City passed away on June 16th, 2023. He was born to the late Opie Read and Stella Couch Hensley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Masters Hensley; two sisters, Jane Dugger and Grace Beth Bowers; and a niece Kathy Dugger Edwards
Jerry graduated of the class of 1953 from Elizabethton High School. He then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in technology from National University in San Diego, CA. He also earned his private pilot's license. Jerry loved working on cars, he was an avid reader of the newspaper, he especially enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal. Jerry retired as General Manager at Stang Industrial Products. He was also an Air Force veteran.
Those left to cherish his memory are a niece, Jerrie Sue Bowers and husband James Schwietzer; a nephew, Mark S. Dugger and wife Vickie; and his beloved cat "Sue"
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jerry's caregivers for their loving care Kay Medlin, Haley Simpson, Mireya Gil, and Teresa Brigman as well as the staff at Amedisys Hospice
No formal services have been scheduled at this time
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson's foundation at Parkinson's Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131 or to your local Humane Society.
