August 4, 1971 – May 19, 2023
Jeffrey Wolverton passed away at home on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was born in Akron, OH, on August 4, 1971, and grew up in Johnston City, TN, where he remained until his death.
Jeff graduated from Science Hill High School, Johnson City, TN in 1989. He spent his entire work life in the restaurant business where he made many life-long friends. He was employed as Assistant Manager of Aubrey's Restaurant in Johnson City at the time of his death. His greatest passion was his Chicago Cubs, and nothing made him prouder than when the Cubs won the 2016 World Series for the first time in 108 years. "Go Cubs"!
Jeff is survived by his fiancée, Malinka Cathell, of the home; son, Chase, of Denver, CO; mother, Judie Wolverton of Leland, NC; father, James Wolverton (Clara) of Cary, NC; sister, Janet Michalakis (Michael), and niece, Irene of Wilmington, NC.
A memorial service will be held at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 7:00 pm, with visitation prior to the service from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Donations can be made in Jeff's memory to Washington County Johnson City Animal Center, 3411 N Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
