Jason Lee Long, 48 passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City and was the son of Edna Sexton Schuller and the late Phelix S. Long.

Jason knew from a young age that he would be a skateboarder-he was exceptionally talented. As a child, he had the opportunity to move around frequently, living in Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, and even Switzerland. During his time in Switzerland, he worked in a bakery, and it was there that he discovered his passion for becoming a chef.

As a young man, Jason returned to the U.S., settling in Georgia, where he worked as a pastry chef. He later transitioned to cooking on the line, dedicating himself to perfecting his craft. For years, he worked tirelessly, often holding two jobs to pursue what he loved most.

Jason's life took on new meaning when he welcomed Khloe Long into the world-his greatest passion. He adored his child more than anything and cherished his family deeply.

If you were fortunate enough to be a part of Jason's life, you were truly the lucky one. He lived life on his own terms, and that was one of the many qualities that made him extraordinary.

Survivors include his mother, Edna Sexton Schuller and her husband, Cornelis of Switzerland; a daughter, Khloe June Long; a brother, Daniel Long; also several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service for Jason will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with cousins giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
