Mike lived a life full of faith, love, humor, and hard work with a simple code of God, family, Weather Tamer, and everything Tennessee Vols. He believed if you trusted in the Lord that everything would work out as it was meant to be and you would find true joy and happiness. He channeled this thought process into everyday life whether it was how he loved his family and friends to how he tried to do right by everyone he encountered during his life. He found his greatest joys in spending time with his family around the pool grilling, swinging a golf club on beautiful days which he often referred to as church enjoying God's work in nature, tailgating and losing his voice cheering for his beloved Vols, and cherishing every moment he had being a Grandpa to his loving Grandson Easton Crowder.
For those lucky enough to know Mike, they know his love of family extended to all those who worked for him and did business with him at Weather Tamer Home Improvements. He would move mountains to make sure each and every one of "his" people were taken care of. Mike cherished each and every relationship he made over the course of 40 years serving his community through his business and his work in the community. He adored coaching the youth in the community as a father and grandfather while making numerous anonymous donations for various causes with wanting nothing in return other than knowing he was helping someone in need out. He found his true inner peace in knowing he was doing his part to give back serving his community. However, his greatest accomplishment and what he took the most pride in was his family. Mike had an unbreakable love and dedication to his soul mate and best friend Carla Howerton. Whom, he cherished every minute of their 48-year marriage together and would break his back to make sure she was taken care of in this life and the next. Words cannot describe how proud he was of his two kids and son in law: James Howerton and Shanna/David Crowder. He loved seeing their growth throughout life and boasting about their accomplishments often when they were not around. Then some of his happiest, most cherished moments were spent with his Grandson Easton Crowder. Whether teaching him how to play golf or just sitting there spending time with him. Mike would often say these are the moments that make life worth living. He can rest easy knowing the bond of family he taught us will survive him in passing knowing we are counting the days till we all reunite in heavenly embrace.
