JOHNSON CITY - Jackie Wayne Cox, 73, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his home.

A native of Johnson City, he was born on October 14th, 1951, to the late John and Rosa (Fowler) Cox. In addition to his parents, Jackie was also preceded in death by his brothers, Milton (Gladys), Lloyd (Evelyn), and Dan (Helen Marie) Cox; his sisters, Marvina Robbins, Betty (Victor) Blevins; nephews, Barry, Alan, and Colin Blevins, and Thomas Cox; and a niece, Mary Jane Walters.

Jackie worked for the Johnson City School District as a Custodian for several years before entering retirement. In his free time, Jackie enjoyed chatting with his neighbors, shopping at Walmart and Sams, and spending time making memories with his family. He recently started a hobby of canning fruits and vegetables. He also couldn't turn down a good Claxton Fruit Cake, no matter the time of year.

Those left to cherish Jackie's memory include his niece, Tarmara (Charles Watson) Robbins; nephews, Dean (Candy), and Keven (Johna) Robbins, Dan Jr. (Wendy) Cox, and Victor Blevins Jr.; as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces; and a neighbor who became a special friend, Charlie Campbell.

Jackie's family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff at Harrison Village, especially Ms. Ann, Ms. Rachel, and Gary, for their kindness and care.
