Jack Lindy Mottern

July 1, 1929 - February 14, 2025

Mr. Jack L. Mottern, born July 1, 1929 (95), of Johnson City, entered into rest, Friday February 14, 2025, at NHC Healthcare Johnson City.

Mr. Mottern was born in Sullivan County, son of the late Verlin and Etta Mottern. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Gene Mottern and an infant son Jeffry Scott Mottern.

He attended Boones Creek Christian Church.

Mr. Mottern proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Special Weapons Officer during the Korean War from 1951 - 1953.

Mr. Mottern retired from Eastman Kodak after 27 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Ladd Mottern, son Tom Mottern and wife Leslie of Gray TN, grandchildren Scott Mottern and his fiancé Erin Gowen as well as Rachel Mottern and her husband Brennan Coheleach of Atlanta GA.

The graveside service for Mr. Mottern will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1:00 P.M, at East Lawn Memorial Park. East Lawn Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Mottern family.
