Ingeborg Lange Hurford March 1, 1938 - June 16, 2024
JONESBOROUGH - Ingeborg Lange Hurford, 86, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at her residence.
Ingeborg was born on March 1, 1938, in Berlin, Germany to the late Heinz and Edith Lange.
In 1956 she took refuge in the USA and was sponsored by her aunt and uncle Charlotte and Walter Panzer of Huntsville, AL. This is where she met and married the love of her life Raymond Lee Hurford. They continued their studies at Oklahoma State University. She graduated with an associate's degree in drafting and design.
In 1971 they made northeast TN their home and raised a family. Ingeborg worked at Sears & Robuck until she retired.
Ingeborg enjoyed traveling and shopping.
In addition to her parents Ingeborg was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Hurford and daughter, Audrey Hurford.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Huffine (Roger); brothers Wolfgang and Jürgen Lange of Germany; sister, Edith May of Switzerland.
A service will be held in her honor Monday, September 30, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel of Washington County Memory Gardens with Jeff Hammer, officiating. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:50 p.m.
