"To have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever." - Albus Dumbledore
JOHNSON CITY - With heavy hearts, family and friends are grieving the loss of Hudson James Lee whose death came far too soon, on June 30, 2023, at the age of thirteen.
Hudson was a bibliophile who loved to read almost anything, but he especially enjoyed fantasy and was an expert on all things Harry Potter. He was fascinated by science, especially space science, and enjoyed getting building sets and kits for science experiments. He also loved - in no particular order - hugs, crocs, Legos, his sisters, trivia, Michigan, sandwiches, and board and video games. Intelligent and quick-witted, his dry sense of humor will be missed, including the way he made everyone laugh with his special dances, including his attempts at breakdancing.
Always an eager learner, he was an exceptional student at Liberty Bell Middle School where he was a library aid and a member of the chess club.
Born on February 23, 2010, Hudson Lee was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He is survived by his parents Dr. Nathaniel Lee and Amber Lee; two special bonus parents, Rachel Taylor Lee (Nathaniel) and Derrick Compton (Amber); his sisters, Arden Lee and Samantha and London Taylor; paternal grandparents, Jack and Marnie Lee of Travers City, Michigan; maternal grandparents, Bentley and Marlane Floyd of Bowling Green, Kentucky; aunt, Jennifer Lee of Traverse City, Michigan; cousins, Colin, Aiden, and Sinead Bishop of Travers City, Michigan; and cousins, Avery, Caleb, Willow, and Juniper Floyd of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and numerous extended family members. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed!
A visitation is planned for his paternal family and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on July 10, with a celebration of Hudson's life following at 7:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests book donations to Liberty Bell Middle School, 718 Morningside Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604.

Hudson was one of my friends in LBMS. He was always nice to me, and we used to talk about video games and books together. May god bless his family.

Hudson was in my class in the 2nd quarter. He was always nice to everyone, sometimes we would play games together whenever our teacher had game days. He was always a joy to be around. May his soul rest in peace.
