In his far-too-short time on this earth, Hudson James Lee's wit, kindness, and unsurpassed hugging ability made an impression on everyone who knew and loved him. Hudson was a voracious reader who took books with him wherever he went, and he made his own contributions to the literary world by developing an elaborate burger-rating system that was purely subjective and yet brutally honest.
A chess club member and library assistant at Liberty Bell Middle School, Hudson was also a Lego aficionado with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a storyteller's spirit. At 13, he was as well-traveled as any adult (Oregon was a particular favorite), and he could always be found in his trusty Crocs. He knew the difference between a swan and a goose - and was not afraid to tell you about it.
Hudson - Hudson Hornet, if you really knew him - was a lifelong Tree Streets resident. Though he hated having his picture taken, if you could get it, Hudson's smile hinted at a sly sense of humor. An accomplished gamer, Hudson's favorite titles were from the Pokémon and Harry Potter universe.
The world simply will not be the same without Hudson Lee in it.
Hudson entered this world Feb. 23, 2010, and departed it June 30, 2023. He was 13 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Amber Lee (Derrick Compton) of Johnson City; his father, Nat (Rachel) Lee of Johnson City; his sister, Arden; his two stepsisters, Sam and London; his maternal grandparents, Bentley and Marlane Floyd of Bowling Green, Ky.; his paternal grandparents, Jack and Marnie Lee of Traverse City, Mich.; grandparents, Scott and Marilyn Compton; an uncle, Jason (Audrey) Floyd of Bowling Green; an aunt, Jenny Lee of Traverse City; several cousins, Colin, Aidan, Sinead, Ansley, Avery, Caleb, Willow, and Juniper; numerous extended family members, aunties, and uncles; and special friend Drew Compton.
A visitation and celebration of Hudson's life is planned for his maternal family and friends at 1 p.m. July 8 at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Team Trees.

Hudson was in my class in the 2nd quarter. He was always nice to everyone, sometimes we would play games together whenever our teacher had game days. He was always a joy to be around. May his soul rest in peace.
