Herbert Thomas Obituary
August 13, 2025
LIMESTONE - Herbert Dallas Thomas, 80, of Limestone, left this earth on his journey home on August 13, 2025. He was born to the late William Lundy and Eliza (Howard) Thomas. Herbert loved all his family and friends. He also loved his beagles and horses.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Martin, Roy, and Grover Thomas; sisters, Fannie Thomas, Shirley Alexander, and Velma Tilson.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Lee Kinght Thomas; daughter, Wendy Denise Carr (Brandon); two grandsons, Eric Jeffers (Alex), James Lewis II; sisters, Geneva Ladd (Russell), Judy Jackson, Doris Pilgrim (Jerry); brother, Clyde Thomas (Connie); along with several nieces and nephews.
The Thomas family would like to thank Smokey Mountain Hospice for their excellent care, compassion, and kind words with Herbert during his time of need, and to Dr. Whaley, his neurologist.
Herbert has chosen to be cremated, and no services will be held at this time.
