GRAY - Helen Ward, 95, of Gray, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, February 8, 2025, at NHC Health Care, Johnson City after a long period of declining health. She was born to the late Hugh and Nina (Stafford) Bacon. Helen was a member of Highland Church of Christ. She retired from First Tennessee Bank after many years of dedicated service and was a life-long farmer. Helen loved to play softball.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Ward; daughter, Candy Ward; brothers, Kyle, Kenneth, Harold, Bobby, and her twin-brother, Joe Bacon.

She is survived by special friends, J.D. and Ruth Hensley, Joe Sparks, Sydney and Betty Boozer; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Ward family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Highland Church of Christ - 485 Highland Church Rd. Johnson City, TN 37615, from 1 P.M. - 2 P.M. A Graveside Service will follow the Visitation in Highland Church Cemetery beginning at 2 P.M. with Pastor Byron Paddock officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
