Hazel Tittle Obituary
March 27, 2025
UNICOI - Hazel Richardson Tittle, age 96, of Unicoi, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Christian Care Center of Unicoi. A native of Johnson City, Hazel is a daughter of the late Reverend George Goodlow and Grace Velma (Hall) Richardson. She attended Rock Creek Presbyterian Church. Hazel loved to sing and was a very talented seamstress. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Madison Tittle.
Hazel Richardson Tittle has left behind to cherish her memory: daughter, Yvonne Shepherd; son, Sammy Tittle (Anne); grandchildren: Greg Shepherd (Lisa), Karen Payne (Keith), and Nathan Tittle (Jessica); five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; special friend, Jimmy Whitson.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Christian Care Center of Unicoi, Governor's Bend, and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care provided to Hazel.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Hazel Richardson Tittle in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 31, 2025, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Rice will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm on Monday and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 1, 2025, in the mausoleum portico at Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending the committal service should meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 am on Tuesday for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Hazel's name to Christian Care Center of Unicoi, 100 Greenway Circle, Erwin, TN 37650.

Yvonne and Sammy, it's been a while since I knew your family when you were in 4-H, Hazel was in the Fishery Home Demonstration Club, and Sam was president of the Fishery Community Club. Yours was a very active, civic minded family that I enjoyed working with very much. So sorry for the loss of both Hazel and Sam, pillars of your community. They are surely missed.
