Hazel Delores "Dot" Royston Fields

BRUNSWICK, GA - Hazel Delores "Dot" Royston Fields, 88, passed away on July 23, 2025, at home in Brunswick, Georgia. She was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee. Hazel was born to the late Howard Hicks Royston and Ethel Carder Royston.

She is survived by her daughters Karen Fields Mink (Joey) of Brunswick, Georgia, Deborah Fields Lewis and Robin Fields Ruff of Johnson City, Tennessee. Grandchildren Joshua Ruff (Cherish), Chelsea Ruff, Sarah Ruff (fiancé Erik Johnson), and Isaac Lewis (Grace). Great grandchildren Bradley Ruff, Joey Mink, Katie Ruff, Beau Lewis, Knox Lewis and Benjamin "Benji" Ruff. Sisters Jeanette Knight, Sandra Masters (Jim) and brother Joe Royston (Donna).

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, George Edwin Fields, son-in-law Jeffrey Ruff, grandson Justin Mink, infant great-granddaughter Rebecca Mink, infant brother Ralph Royston, sisters Martha Royston and Charlotte Royston Jones, and brother Rev. James Royston.

She retired after 30 years of service with the Veterans Administration at Mountain Home Tennessee.

She was a devout Christian, serving as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher in the children's and youth departments of Skyline Heights Baptist Church and Snow Memorial Baptist Church for over 30 years. She also served as the leader for over 10 years of Girls in Action, a Women's Missionary Union program through the Southern Baptist Convention for girls (Skyline Heights Baptist Church).

The family wishes to express special thanks to her caregiver of several years, Angel Carter of Brunswick, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow visitation.
