JACKSONVILLE, FL - Hazel F. Bishop passed away peacefully at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, Florida on December 9, 2023. She was born in 1936 in Elizabethton, TN.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Gary Bishop, her parents, Sidney and Anna Richardson, her in-laws, Eugene and Mary Bishop, her brother, Harmon Richardson, her brothers-in-law: Ernie, Albert, Chalmer, Paul, and sister's-in-law: Ella-Mae, and Joyce Bishop
She is survived by her loving sons, Jeb (Shirley) from Colorado Springs, CO and Lee (Jennette) from Rochester, WA. Grandchildren: Chris Hurst, (Alicia), from Canon City, Colorado, Jackson, (Hayley) from Jacksonville, FL and Ashley Earle (Joey) from Tampa, FL. Great Grandchildren: Caspian, Ryker, Kennedy, Aiden and Rosalie, her sister-in-law Brenda S. Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel earned her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Tennessee State University in 1957. After earning her degree she worked as a teacher in Tennessee and Florida.
After marrying the love of her life, Gary Bishop in 1960, they moved to Tallahassee, Florida and lived there for many years.
Hazel was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She blessed us all with her love and strength. Her love and devotion to her family were never wavering. Her family were everything to her; all her children and grandchildren were her masterpiece.
She is interred at the Jacksonville Florida National Veterans Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd.

So sorry to hear Hazel has passed. Condolences to her 2 sons and family. Friends on social media for years I had known Hazel as wife of good work friend Gary since 1980s. I will miss her.
