Haskel King March 26, 2024 PINEY FLATS - Haskel (Hack) Aaron King, 80, peacefully joined the Lord in the presence of his family on March 26, 2024. Born in Scott County, VA, Haskel called Piney Flats, TN his lifelong home. He found solace and community as a member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church for over two decades, actively engaging in the Willing Workers Sunday School class.
Haskel's commitment to service extended beyond his faith community. He proudly served with the Army National Guard and dedicated numerous years to Eastman Chemical Company before retiring. A pillar of support to his loved ones, he cherished his roles as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.
Hack found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether tending to his farm, cheering on NASCAR races, or crafting in his workshop, he embraced each moment with enthusiasm. He cherished leisurely outings with friends, often convening for breakfast in Piney Flats. His love for using his tractor in the garden was matched only by his appreciation for hearty meals.
In remembrance of Haskel's life, may we carry forward his spirit of dedication, joy, and camaraderie.
Haskel was preceded in death by his parents M. R. (Poppy) and Hazel Lucille King; siblings, Ed King, M Faye (little sister Susie) Wilson, Roy King, Robert King, Robert Wilson, and Frances Hodge.

I´m first memory of Haskel on his tractor mowing the field and helping dad (Witt langstaff) and talking. I was much younger, as was he, but he was a good man that seemed to enjoy life. When dad passed a couple years ago and my son George 3 and I went by to visit he and Darlene and let him know we were going to build a little place on dad´s tree farm and would be neighbors, he was so nice and full of good stories even as he struggled with the effects of his stroke.... Again, a good man who seemed to enjoy life and Darlene and their family. He will be missed and fondly remembered....

My favorite memory of Haskel are the frequent visits he would make in the tree farm behind his house. Many days were spent digging trees, burlaping them and loading them for delivery. He would stop by and he, James, and I would spend time laughing and decussing our plans to get the tree out of the ground without any equipment. He would always say, well you have your "little worker" and would laugh!
He would bring his tractor and work on our driveway and would not want to take any money!
He was always kind, thoughtful, helpfull, and a joy to be around!
Such a good hearted, Godly man!
I will miss him terribly, but I will see him again soon! In a most wonderful place Heaven.
With so much love to his wife. DARLENE and family. I love you Haskel, see you soon!

Hak was one of the kindest people I have ever known. When I first moved to Piney Flats over 20 years ago, there was a snow storm and Hak called me and the other widows he knew to see if there was anything he could do for us. He & Darlene were always actively involved in our Willing Workers class and until his body would not allow him to get to church, he & Darlene were always at church. I am going to miss him but grateful he is whole again and in the arms of our Saviour. My prayers are with Darlene, Aimee and Wes.
