WINTER SPRINGS, FL - Harriet Nebel Allbee, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in Winter Springs, FL. She was born in Missouri to the late Harold Lynn Nebel and Gertrude Shelton Nebel.
Harriet graduated from high school in 1955 and attended Chillicothe Bible College, Chillicothe, MO, St. Louis Christian College, Florissant, MO, and Joliet Junior College, Joliet, IL. In 1957, she married Jack L. Allbee, a Christian Church pastor, and they lived in Missouri and Illinois, where he ministered. Harriet retired from the Village of Bolingbrook, Bolingbrook, IL after 23 years in the Finance Department as an accountant and the last several years working as the acting finance director. In 2001, they moved to Unicoi, TN and later to nearby Johnson City.
Harriet enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, volunteering, reading, sewing, and going to the gym. She was a member of Grandview Christian Church in Johnson City, TN.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Harold Lynn Nebel, Jr, and her granddaughter, Brittny Leyva. She is survived by husband Jack Allbee, brother, Maurice (Linda) Nebel; sons, David Scott (Terri) Allbee of Deland, FL, and Mark Alan (Pam) Allbee of Yorkville, IL; grandchildren Matthew (Debbie) Allbee, Justin (Ashley) Allbee, Joshua (Lisel) Allbee, Courtney (Evan) Fuller, and Lukas (Rachel) Allbee; great-grandchildren, Louie, Leo, Bayla, Jaxin, Ben, Isla, Kelley, Jack, Maverick, and Noah.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 4:00-7:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A celebration of Harriet's life will follow Wednesday, February 21, 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Neil Schori officiating.
An additional visitation will be held Thursday, February 22, 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Final prayers will begin Thursday, 11:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a procession to Naperville Cemetery for graveside services.
