Harold Bailey Obituary
ERWIN - Harold Lewis Bailey, age 88, Erwin, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Monday, May 29, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and son of the late Joe H. Bailey and Ida Williams Bailey.
Harold retired from CSX Transportation after many years of service. He was a member of Lily Dale Church of Christ, and he attended Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church.
He was a hard-working man of great faith who loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Louise Bailey on April 19, 2003; his son, Jody Lee Bailey on August 19, 2012; grandson, Robert Harold Bailey; granddaughter, Jamie Lynn King; brother, James Buster Bailey; sister, Faye Louise Holler.
Harold leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Buster V. Bailey, of Erwin; his daughter, Melba Willis Bailey (Jim Tester), of Johnson City; five grandchildren: Aren Renea Rice (DeWayne), Jason Charles Bailey (Tracy), Randall Willis (Nicole), Rosalee Bailey and Jennifer Nicole Joyner; sixteen great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; special daughter-in-law: Linda Bailey; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Harold's graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 03, 2023, in the Garland Cemetery, Blevins Branch Road, Buladean, NC. Pastor Randy English will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randall Willis, Ronnie Barnett, Dewayne Rice, Buster Bailey, Jim Tester and Austin Edwards. Lewis Rice will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:55 p.m. on Saturday. The family will receive friends at his son, Buster's residence, 109 Triangle B Drive, Erwin, TN 37650.
