HAMPTON - Glenn Ray Guy, age 80, of Hampton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Glenn was born in Elizabethton to the late Oscar Guy and Louise Hoilman Guy. In addition to his parents Glenn was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Guy.

Glenn had worked at Snap On Tools of Elizabethton as a machine operator for over 25 years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Cuban Crisis between the years of 1962 and 1965 as a tank gunner. Glenn was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and also attended Hunter United Methodist Church until his health declined and prohibited it. Glenn enjoyed golfing, TN Lady Vols, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to cherish and remember Glenn include his wife, Betty Hathaway Guy; two children, Chris (Debbie) Guy and Melissa Guy, both of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Cameron (Kate) Dugger of Chuckey, Logan Guy and Ashlynn Guy both of Elizabethton; two great grandchildren, Everlee Dugger and Wrenlee Dugger both of Chuckey; a brother, Kenneth (Zelma) Guy of Elizabethton; and three sisters, Betty Vaughn, Elizabeth Guy and Patsy Holtsclaw all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Glenn's life will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Estel Williams and Pastor Lou Miller officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn's friends of the Elizabethton Golf Course. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:15 AM on Friday.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Glenn to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Shriners Hospital.
