JOHNSON CITY - Glen Homer Hatcher, age 94, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
Born in Kingsport, Tennessee on August 12, 1930, a son of the late Homer and Fannie Musick Hatcher, he resided in this area almost all of his life. Glen attended Dobyns Bennett High School and East Tennessee University.
Glen retired from Tennessee Eastman Company in 1986 following 34 years of service. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his stepmother, Pearl Potts Hatcher; brothers, Lawrence Ray and Phil Hatcher; sisters, Cora Hatcher Conners and Marie Hatcher.
Glen is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen Trent Hatcher; son, Dr. Glen H. Hatcher, Jr.; daughter, Donna Hatcher Wood (Rick); grandchildren, Lori Stevenson, Becky Wood Davis (Matt) and Jodie Wood Thomas (Dr. Sam); great-grandchildren, Zac Wood, Hatcher Stevenson and Myer Thomas; and brothers, Larry, Gene, and Bill Hatcher; and family friend, Adam Stevenson.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses of the critical care unit at Franklin Woods Community Hospital for the great care that was given to Mr. Hatcher.
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, TN. A service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Ryan Shaffer officiating. Burial will be conducted following the service.
